Also, estrogen increases cholesterol production. Adipose tissue has aromatase to convert steroids to estrogens. Estrogens stimulate HMG-CoA reductase to increase cholesterol production. Thus "fat" person has increased production of estrogen-> increased endogenous cholesterol
