Remember that these diseases can also cause polyhydramnios (mainly anencephaly) due to the lack of a swallowing center in the brain.
AFP is also a tumor marker for Yolk sac tumors, mixed embryonal carcinomas (low yield), and hepatocellular carcinoma.
